  • Lisa A. Hasty, MD, FACOG

    Founding Partner of ACRM

    LISA A. HASTY MD, a founding partner of the Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine, is a graduate of Davidson College and Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Hasty completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia where she was recognized with awards for excellence in clinical care and clinical research. Following this four year residency, she completed three years of fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Pennsylvania. She had extensive clinical training as well as numerous research publications and received a Clinical Investigator’s Award from the National Institutes of Health for research focused on hormonal regulation of certain immune proteins on the endometrium and the disease of endometriosis. Dr. Hasty returned to Atlanta in 1992 where she was on faculty at Emory for three years before joining a large clinical practice. In 1998, she started ACRM with the intention of creating a caring team focused on the best possible experience for couples facing infertility. Her particular areas of interest include in vitro fertilization and preimplantation genetic diagnosis as well as recurrent pregnancy loss. Dr. Hasty is an elected Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) as well as the Georgia Ob/Gyn Society (GOGS). Dr. Hasty is also active in the community and enjoys her work with various nonprofit agencies. She is a member of the board of the Drake House which is located in Roswell, that provides emergency short term housing for homeless single women and their children. She is passionate about her work for the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia. She chaired Dancing Stars of Atlanta in May 2017, which raised over $850,000 for support for caregivers and research efforts. She is a member of the Sandy Springs Society. Dr. Hasty met her husband, Dr. Andrew Smith while attending Davidson College. Dr. Smith is a cardiologist at Emory and directs the Advanced Heart Failure Therapy Program. The couple makes their home in Atlanta and they have three children. Apart from her busy schedule, she enjoys traveling, family snow skiing vacations, hiking, pro-am ballroom dancing and golf.

  • André L. Denis, MD, MPH, FACOG

    Founding Partner of ACRM

    André L. Denis, MD, MPH, is a practicing reproductive endocrinologist in Atlanta and founding partner of Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine. He received his undergraduate education with honors at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and also obtained a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology during this time. Following his time at Hopkins, Dr. Denis was awarded a medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1986. A growing fascination with reproductive endocrinology and gynecology led to a change in career direction away from public health toward a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the prestigious Jones Institute of Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. As a resident at one of the nation's top infertility pioneering schools, Dr. Denis received multiple awards and recognition for his research projects and residency contributions. Dr. Denis subsequently completed his Fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility under Luigi Mastroianni, Jr., MD, at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He remained at Pennsylvania Hospital to serve in several faculty positions and earned Teacher of the Year Award for his accomplishments. PUBLIC SPEAKER & RESPECTED RESEARCHER Dr. Denis is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. As a prominent Atlanta Reproductive Endocrinologist speaker, Dr. Denis has been invited to lecture and present his findings at respected clinical meetings around the world. He is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI), the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology, and is an elected fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition to his interest in IVF, Dr. Denis also specializes in ovulation induction, treating male infertility, and supporting patients who are having a difficult time with infertility. He also attends to the unique language needs of his patients with his fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. Dr. Denis' warm candor and compassion in tending to the physical and psychological needs of each patient is a noted quality. Dr. Denis has been married to Deborah Z. Denis for over 30 years. Dr. and Mrs. Denis, together with their two children, have made Atlanta home. He enjoys history, and traveling.

  • Sue Ellen Carpenter, MD, FACOG

    Sue Ellen Carpenter, MD, infertility doctor in Atlanta, joined Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine in 2003 following a distinguished faculty position at Emory University School of Medicine's Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Carpenter received her undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude in Biochemistry from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts in 1979 and was awarded a medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City in 1983. Following her medical studies at Columbia, Dr. Carpenter was accepted into the Gynecology and Obstetrics Residency program at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. During this time the first American baby conceived via in vitro fertilization was born and there was considerable collaboration between Johns Hopkins and the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine. Inspired by these advances in laparoscopic surgery and the advent of in vitro fertilization, Dr. Carpenter focused her career path on becoming a reproductive endocrinologist and went on to complete her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1989. During her training Dr. Carpenter developed a special interest in exercise and its effects on infertility and in 1989 was awarded a substantial grant to complete the research project, "Effect of Exercise on Side Effects of Danazol". EXPERT ON FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH Dr. Carpenter remained at Johns Hopkins after her fellowship as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and served on the Admissions Committee for the School of Medicine. Her efforts and dedication to her field also earned her such esteemed positions as Director of the Donor Insemination Program and Associate Director of the In Vitro Fertilization Program, both at Hopkins. Not only is Dr. Carpenter an accomplished Atlanta infertility specialist with years of experience performing in vitro fertilization and other reproductive treatment options, she is also renowned in her field as one of the leading experts on adolescent gynecology and reconstruction of uterine abnormalities. She is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and has served as Treasurer, as well as Program Director of the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Special Interest Group under ASRM. Dr. Carpenter also served a three year term on the Board of Directors of the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. As a female infertility doctor, she is also active in the Atlanta Women's Medical Alliance. Dr. Carpenter expresses particular interest in treating congenital anomalies associated with infertility as well as polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis. She values being able to educate patients on their diagnosis and treatment options and developing individual plans for helping couples reach their goal of parenthood. Dr. Carpenter is married to Dr. Rick Carpenter, who is a pediatrician and family psychiatrist. Both Dr. Carpenters have two children in college and graduate school and enjoy following their academic pursuits. Also, Dr. Carpenter enjoys being outdoors with her family and finding quiet time for reading, gardening and embroidery.

  • Robin H. Fogle, MD, FACOG

    Robin H. Fogle, MD, fertility specialist in Atlanta, GA, joined Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine in the Fall of 2007 after completing her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles, California, under the instruction of Richard J. Paulson, MD. Dr. Fogle earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering Summa Cum Laude from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She then received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was awarded the prestigious Janet Glasgow citation for academic distinction. Dr. Fogle completed her residency at Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Atlanta, Georgia, where her faculty and peers elected her to serve as chief resident from 1999-2000. DR. FOGLE’S WORK AT ACRM As a Georgia reproductive specialist, Dr. Fogle's clinical interests include in vitro fertilization, polycystic ovarian syndrome, premature ovarian failure, and reproductive surgery. Her research interests center around uterine receptivity and the window of embryo implantation. Dr. Fogle is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and is on the executive board for the Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology Society. Dr. Fogle has received several awards for her research as a fertility specialist, including the Menopause Research Award and Val Davajan Fellow Award from the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society. Additionally, she has authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She was recently named an Atlanta Top Doctor in the field of reproductive endocrinology. A native of Texas, Dr. Fogle's interests outside of medicine include spending time with her family, jogging and ballet. She is married to Evander F. Fogle, MD, an orthopaedic surgeon with Resurgens Orthopaedics, in Atlanta. They have three sons.

  • David L. Keenan, MD, FACOG

    David L. Keenan, MD, infertility doctor in Atlanta, joined Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine in the summer of 2008. He received his undergraduate degree in history from Emory University and his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Emory University affiliated hospitals in 1989. In 1991, Dr. Keenan completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Keenan's interest in reproductive endocrinology and infertility began during his college education when his courses included the study of the pituitary gland's control of reproductive function. His interest in this field grew during his later training in medical school and residency when he had the opportunity to pursue research relating to infertility and in vitro fertilization, leading Dr. Keenan to become an infertility specialist. AREAS OF EXPERTISE Prior to joining Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine, Dr. Keenan was with Reproductive Biology Associates for 12 years. He began his career as an assistant professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Keenan is a member of several medical societies, including American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and the Atlanta OB/GYN Society. Dr. Keenan's previous publications have examined the diagnosis and treatment of defects of the uterus and the use of GnRH analogs during ovarian stimulation for in vitro fertilization. His major areas of interest as an infertility doctor in Atlanta include the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, reconstructive surgery, abnormalities of the uterus, recurrent miscarriage, in vitro fertilization, ovulatory disorders, and genetic studies in conjunction with in vitro fertilization.

  • Kathryn C. Calhoun, MD, FACOG

    Kathryn C. Calhoun, MD, female infertility specialist in Atlanta, joined Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine in the summer of 2012. She completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Calhoun earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Interdisciplinary Scholar. She then received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Calhoun completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where her peers elected her to serve as chief resident from 2008-2009. DIVERSELY EXPERIENCED FERTILITY EXPERT Dr. Calhoun's clinical interests include in vitro fertilization, recurrent pregnancy loss, male infertility, ovarian aging, PCOS and reproductive surgery. Dr. Calhoun has received several awards for her research, including the Luigi Mastroianni Resident Paper Award from the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society (PARES) and the Outstanding Abstract Award from the Endocrine Society. Additionally, she has authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Calhoun is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Calhoun's interests outside of medicine include running, yoga and spending time with family and friends.

  • Bonnie G. Patel, MD

    ACRM proudly announces the addition of Dr. Bonnie Patel who will be joining the ACRM family in September 2018 as a Board Certified Specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Patel comes to the Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine from Wake Forest University where she has been a practicing Reproductive Endocrinologist since 2012. In 2015, Dr. Patel completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Case Western Reserve University. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Georgia in 2004, graduating summa cum laude with the highest honors. She then completed her medical degree at The Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta, GA in 2008. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine at Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she was elected by faculty and peers to serve as chief resident from 2011-2012. During her residency, she was the recipient of the Thompson B. Gailey Award for the highest CREOG (The Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology) exam score. In addition to being a practicing Reproductive Endocrinologist at Wake Forest Baptist Health, Dr. Patel served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University. Her clinical interests include Oncofertility, Assisted Reproduction, and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Patel has done extensive research in the field of reproductive medicine and has participated as a co-investigator on several grants, including a funded NIH Research Project Grant Program (R01), focusing on fertility preservation in adolescents and young adults. She has written many peer-reviewed journal articles on topics such as Endometriosis, Primary Ovarian Insufficiency, and Control of Progesterone Receptors in Human Parturition. In 2017, she was invited to serve as a Reproductive Medicine PROLOG (Personal Review of Learning in Obstetrics and Gynecology) task force member for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Furthermore, she has participated in writing task forces for the American College of Physicians Medical Knowledge Self Assessment Program (MKSAP). Dr. Patel has been a frequent presenter and lecturer at the annual meetings of prominent reproductive medicine professional groups including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI), and Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS). Additionally, her professional memberships include the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), and American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists (AAGL). Dr. Patel provided disaster relief with the American Red Cross in Nairobi, Kenya, where she volunteered in the HIV clinic. Dr. Patel will see patients at ACRM's Marietta, Johns Creek, and Atlanta-Perimeter locations.
